I posted this issue to the Microsoft Forums and did not get any useful assistance. It always complained about the ports(80,443) not being open even though the router has the correct ports forwarded.
Remote Pc Computer Offline Download Their FilesClients could connect to domain.remotewebaccess.com and viewdownload their files or RDP connection. The exchange integration also worked as the users could check email from there as well.
The Routing and Remote Access Server Setup was wanting to run. I should not have run it but this was the first time I had logged onto the server in person in quite a while. Also, it almost seemed logical that it needed to complete now after never needing it for years. I chose the Deploy both DirectAccess and VPN and left all the choices that were pre-filled out as it pertained to the environment. I checked the Anywhere access after the reboot and I am almost certain that it was now happy. Everything seemed to work for about a week until the health report reported that the clients were not backing up. Currently, the clients are not backing up to the Essentials Server. The one that shows as online also has a critical health issue saying the Network Firewall is turned off. Essentials Server Configuration Tester OS Detected: Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Essentials Local IP Address: 192.168.200.20 System Type: Domain Controller IPv4 DNS Servers: 127.0.0.1, 192.168.200.20 DNS Forwarder: 8.8.8.8, 68.105.29.16, 68.105.28.16 I believe the DirectAccess wizard used a wrong cert andor messed up internal ports. I dont think the website bindings are the problem because everything there still works. All internal and externals websites for exchange and the essentials server are working. I believe the bindings is caused by the ARR3 (Application Request Routing)installed and the PS script not expecting it..The only apparent real issue is the reportingmanagement and client backups. Remote Pc Computer Offline Windows 10 Pro 1903Repairing Anywhere Access now has a VPN was not configured successfully error in addition to the router ports blocked(80,443) All the clients are Windows 10 Pro 1903. Remote Pc Computer Offline Software And ReinstalledI already uninstalled the connector software and reinstalled. How can I get the clients to back up and get the Dashboard to manage and report on the clients fixed without breaking the exchange integration. DirectAccess had taken over the ports that the health service and the client backup service ran on. TCP 6602 (Used for Status) TCP 8912 (Used for Backups) The elevated PowerShell command that fixed everything was: Set-NetNatTransitionConfiguration IPv4AddressPortPool (x.x.x.x,6001-6601,x.x.x.x, 6603-8911,x.x.x.x,8913-47000) Replace x.x.x.x with the internal IP of your Essentials server. Honestly you may have to call Microsoft to get you out of this situation. Kevin.
